01 — Understand

Savoie Process technology, in three points

Savoie Process was founded by engineers with 35 years of combined industrial-process experience. Its fully electric ECOFICIENT solution uses waste heat to meet simultaneous cooling and heating needs from -6°C to 120°C and beyond. The objective is simple: consume only what is needed, produce only what is needed and decarbonise effectively.

Founded in 2023, Savoie Process is an SME specialising in lower energy and water consumption for industrial processes. Drawing on more than 30 years of combined experience in food processing and cosmetics, the team developed ECOFICIENT®, a fully electric thermal-management system that simultaneously produces and controls heating and cooling while recovering waste heat.

Savoie Process thermal solutions

Consume only what is needed, produce only what is needed: ECOFICIENT® rethinks heating and cooling across the industrial workshop.

The electrically powered closed system produces both heat and cooling. Its goal is to equal or exceed the efficiency of conventional fossil-fuel equipment while sharply reducing direct CO₂ emissions.

Based on mechanical vapour compression and new-generation refrigerants, ECOFICIENT® covers a broad temperature range:

  • -6°C to 30°C for cooling;
  • 30°C to 100°C, and up to 120°C with superheating, for useful heat.

A modular energy loop

The technology captures, stores, controls and redistributes heat according to process demand. It adapts to both batch and continuous production. Waste heat from equipment or products is routed into a closed energy loop to maximise reuse.

The patented modular architecture combines:

  • Process-sized thermal storage to bridge the gap between the production of heat or cooling and the moment it is needed;
  • Intelligent supervision for real-time control and optimisation;
  • Interoperability with existing equipment so the system can be integrated without disrupting industrial operations.

Initially designed for cosmetics and food processing, the solution can serve any site seeking to reduce water and thermal-energy consumption, gain autonomy and improve energy resilience.

A pragmatic and committed industrial vision

With ECOFICIENT®, Savoie Process enables leaner, controlled industrial energy use that captures value as close as possible to the need.

The approach has three pillars:

  • Understand the workshop’s explicit and implicit thermal requirements;
  • Identify waste-heat resources and energy consumers to maximise self-consumption;
  • Implement a flexible, controlled and patented low-carbon energy loop.

Performance and project support

With a stated COP of 3 to 5 that remains stable across seasons, and eligibility for France’s Energy Savings Certificates, ECOFICIENT® targets a two- to three-year payback depending on the project.

Savoie Process supports manufacturers from the first study through commissioning: flow audits, concept and detailed design, pilot-unit testing, custom sizing and financial engineering. Each system combines proven components, appropriate storage capacity and latest-generation controls.

By 2030 the company aims to avoid 657,000 tonnes of CO₂, contributing directly to the energy transition of French and European industry.
